Community Center Offers New Youth Program

Developing the “soft skills” necessary to be successful in the workforce is the goal of a new teen program offered by the Fort Ritchie Community Center. The Community Center has received a $30,000.00 grant from the Rural Maryland Council (RMC) to pilot the new initiative. The job skills program will have three main components: Education, Practice, and Evaluation.

The Education portion of the program takes place during weekly Skills Sessions, which are held Thursdays from 6:30pm to 8pm at the Community Center. The Practice and Evaluation portions are accomplished as participants complete Work Sessions, where their skills are put to use as Community Center Junior Staff.

To register for the program or to find out more information, please contact Connor Brown at the Community Center (301-241-5085, cbrown@thefrcc.org).
