UPCOMING EVENT: Teen Summit – Job Skills Workshops
“Preparing Today’s Youth to be Tomorrow’s Workforce” is the theme of the Fort Ritchie Community Center’s upcoming teen event.
This half-day event targeting youth ages 12-17 is designed with a clear goal in mind: motivating, empowering, and teaching teens to become successful employees in future jobs.
Job Skills Workshops w/ Guest Presenters
The Teen Summit focuses on the development of “soft skills”, such as communication, decision-making, work ethic, and professionalism. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from four highly knowledgeable individuals in a variety of professions. Through interactive presentations, each guest speaker will discuss a topic they are passionate about, providing youth insight into the professional skills that employers seek.
Attendees* will be treated to a lunch buffet from Chipotle Mexican Grill, where they can create bowls, tacos, or salads from a selection of delicious ingredients.
Giveaways & Raffles
All registered attendees* will be entered for a chance to win one of over $1500 worth of prizes! A few very lucky teens will be walking away with some seriously awesome gear, such as an Apple iPad, a Nintendo Switch, a DJI Spark Drone, a GoPro HERO 7 action camera, and more! In addition to the chance to win prizes, every attendee* will also receive a job skills “swag bag”, which includes a t-shirt, backpack, notebook, and more.
