SUMMER DAY CAMP GENERAL INFORMATION

A traditional Summer Camp experience that features specialized activities based on weekly themes. Specialists, educators, historians, artisans, crafters, fitness instructors, athletes, and camp counselors lead the specialized activities each week.
SUMMER DAY CAMP FEES
- FRCC members: $150 per week per camper
- Non-members: $175 per week per camper
Price covers all camp activities.
Campers qualify for the member rate if they or their parents/legal guardians are FRCC members.
PAYMENT TERMS
Payment for your child’s first week of camp must be made in full at the time of registration. A $25.00 non-refundable deposit is required to hold each week of Summer Camp that is chosen. Payment in full for subsequent weeks is due no later than two weeks prior to the start of the week attending. There will be no exceptions to payment terms and no refunds are offered.
FINANCIAL AID
Thanks to the support of the community, financial assistance may be available based on family need. The amount of funding is limited. Please inquire at the Front Desk for more information and an application.
AGE GROUPS
Camp is open to youth ages 6-13. FRCC camp programs are age appropriate and campers will be divided into groups for most activities. (Minimum age: 6 years of age before September 1, 2023, and must have completed kindergarten. Maximum age is 13. Camper may not turn 14 before September 1, 2023.)
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR PARENTS
The FRCC Summer Day Camp program operates Monday through Friday, June 12 through August 4, from 8 am until 5 pm each day. Regular drop-off is no earlier than 8 a.m. and regular pick-up is no later than 5 p.m. Early drop-off is available at 7 am, and late pick-up is available until 6 pm. Parents may register their child for any or all of the weekly sessions (as space is available). Contact us at 301-241-5085 or stop by the FRCC Front Desk if you have any questions about camp. An orientation for parents/guardians will be held in June prior to the first day of camp (date and time to be announced). Additional materials and information, such as Camp Rules and a “What to bring to camp” list will be provided to parents prior to the start of camp. FRCC Summer Camp is licensed to operate by the State of Maryland and abides by all applicable state laws and regulations.
Typical Day of Camp
- 8:00 – 9:00 Campers arrive and social recreation
- 9:00 – Opening activity/game
- 9:30 – Specialized activities
- 11:30 – Lunch (brought from home)
- 12:30 – Specialized activities/guest presenter
- 3:00 – Snack (brought from home)
- 3:30 – Closing activity/game
- 4:00 – 5:00 Camper pick-up and social recreation
