  • FRCC members:  $125 per week per camper      
  • Non-members:   $150 per week per camper

*Price covers all camp activities. Campers qualify for the member rate if they or their parents/legal guardians are FRCC members.


Payment for your child’s first week of camp must be made in full at the time of registration. A $25.00 non-refundable deposit is required to hold each week of Summer Camp that is chosen. Payment in full for subsequent weeks is due no later than two weeks prior to start of the week attending.  There will be no exceptions to payment terms and no refunds are offered.


Thanks to the support of the community, financial assistance may be available based on family need. The amount of funding is limited. Please inquire at the Courtesy Desk for more information and an application. 


Camp is open to boys and girls ages 6-13. FRCC camp programs are age appropriate and campers will be divided into groups for most activities. (Minimum age: 6 years of age before September 1, 2021 and must have completed kindergarten. Maximum age is 13. Camper may not turn 14 before September 1, 2021.)


The FRCC Summer Day Camp program operates Monday through Friday, June 14 through August 6, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day. Regular drop off is no earlier than 8 a.m. and regular pick up is no later than 5 p.m.  Parents may register their child for any or all of the weekly sessions (as space is available). Contact us at 301-241-5085 or stop by the FRCC Courtesy Desk if you have any questions about camp. An orientation for parents/guardians will be held in June prior to the first day of camp (date and time to be announced). Additional materials and information, such as Camp Rules and a "What to bring to camp" list will be provided to parents prior to the start of camp. FRCC Summer Camp is licensed to operate by the State of Maryland and abides by all applicable state laws and regulations.

  • 8:00-Campers arrive and social recreation
  • 9:00-Opening activity/game
  • 9:30-Specialized activities
  • 11:30-Lunch (brought from home)
  • 12:30-Specialized activities/guest presenter
  • 3:00-Snack (brought from home)
  • 3:30-Closing activity/game
  • 4:00-5:00 Parent pick up and social recreation

FRCC Summer Camp 2021 Weekly Themes

A traditional Summer Camp experience that features specialized activities based on weekly themes.

Specialists, educators, historians, artisans, crafters, fitness instructors, athletes, and camp counselors lead the specialized activities each week.


June 14 – 18:  Outdoor Adventure 1
Canoeing & kayak instruction on Lake Royer, wildlife & microbial studies on and around the lake, raptor and reptile encounters, fishing and lots of outdoor fun!

June 21 – 25:  Mission Impossible
It’s your time to crack the case through live Clue games, fingerprinting, DNA studies, and scavenger hunts..

June 28 – July 2:  Ultimate Sports 
Soccer, basketball, and other sports. Learn rules, fundamentals, and sportsmanship. Enjoy indoor and outdoor games.

July 5- July 9:  Shark Week

Baby shark do doo do doo do doo… It’s SHARK WEEK!!  Let’s chomp into the week with some awesome shark facts and fun filled shark activities.

July 12- 16:  Creativity-Arts
Show your creativity as crafters and artisans lead interactive experiences with pottery, painting, sketching, carving and more.

July 19 – 23:  H2 Oh Yeah!
Let’s beat the heat!! Grab your swimsuit, towels, and sunscreen for a wild, wet, and water filled week of extreme water activities and games.

July 26 – 30:  Kids Boot Camp
Enjoy Laser Tag and other active games, meet veterans, learn flag respect, intro to military-style physical fitness training.

August 2 – 6:  Outdoor Adventure 2
Canoeing & kayak instruction on Lake Royer, wildlife & microbial studies on and around the lake, raptor and reptile encounters, fishing and lots of outdoor fun!                                                                                                                                                                                                               

This is a sampling of the activities we plan for each week.  The final camp activity schedule is subject to change.

COVID-19 prevention protocols such as social distancing, frequent hand washing, and wearing face coverings will be practiced.
