Class Descriptions

Pilates

Pilates is a form of exercise emphasizing the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness to support efficient, graceful movement. It was developed by Joseph Pilates and is also known as the Pilates Method. In this 1 hour class, it is mostly mat work, but there is also incorporation of the exercise ball, bands, light weights, and TRX straps.

Mix It Up

Mix It Up is Instructors choice. The participant is in for a surprise; normally this class will be an hour of cardio and strength training combined using a variety of apparatus; balls, bands, barbell work, medicine balls and free weights.

RX Rip

RX Rip will strngthen your entire body. It targets all major muscle groups by using exercises such as squats, presses, lifts and curls. Steps, bars and hand weights have been specifically designed to reduce transition time and aid in muscle isolation.

Half and Half

Half and Half is a class with 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of BODYPUMP. The cardio portion can be STEP aerobics, Cardio Kick Boxing, or a surprise cardio exercise developed by the instructor.

Zumba

Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves.

Senior Stretch

Senior stretch class is a 30 minute class with a variety of strength exercises. The class is held Monday, Wednesday and Friday every week at 8:30. Monday and Friday is strength and stretching days using chairs, weights, exercise and medicine balls, bands, and TRX straps. Wednesday is cardio day, aerobic exercise, strength, balance and agility training. It may be a senior class, but all are welcome.

Yoga

Introduces the fundamental principles of alignment and breath work in a flow of postures linked together by the breath.  Yoga is designed to improve the health, performance, and mental acuity of athletes or individuals interested in improving their level of fitness. Based on the ancient fitness science of hathayoga, it blends balance, strength, flexibility and power in a fitness format.

Suspension Training

This class uses body weight and a variety of equipment to build core strength, balance, coordination and stability. A variety of methods will be incorporated into the workouts including traditional strength and stretch, pilates, and as appropriate, high intensity intervals. This class can be modified at all levels, modifying from introductory to advanced, requiring an eagerness to recognize where you are in your program, and embrace modifications as you see fit.
