ALL boaters and those who fish MUST get a Fort Ritchie fishing/boating permit!!!! The permits are available at the Community Center (14421 Lake Royer Drive) and fire house (located at the end of Castle Drive). At this time, there will be no cost to obtain a permit. Items needed in order to receive a Fort Ritchie Fishing/Boating Permit

Lucia Lamberson thought she was attending a Zumba fundraising event at the Fort Ritchie Community Center; however, her friends had secretly planned a surprise party in her honor. Lamberson officially became an American on Monday, April 12 in Philadelphia. Friends she had made through exercise classes at the Community Center were so impressed with her, they decided they wanted to publicly acknowledge the achievement.

Community members donated non-perishable items on Saturday, May 23, at Fort Ritchie Community Center that were given to Tabitha's Table in Smithsburg, MD to provide for the families in the Smithsburg area and surrounding communities. Later that day, the Community Center supplied 25 gallons of free milk to local families courtesy of the Washington County MD Farm Bureau. Thank you to everyone that donated to Tabitha’s Table to help those in need during this time.
